We are part-way through our
Advent/Christmas worship series about “Christmas in the Air” having begun with
decorating our sanctuary with the traditional Hanging of the Greens and moving
towards celebrating the birth of Jesus with Christmas at the Mall, Christmas at
the Office, Christmas at the Kitchen Table, and on Christmas Eve, Christmas at
the Manger. We've begun with the secular songs we might hear played all around us
while shopping, at the office, and at home, culminating with those beloved
Christmas Carols like Joy to the World
and Silent Night as we light the
candles on Christmas Eve. Join us during these delightful worship times of the
Christmas season—11:00 am on Sunday mornings and 7:00 pm on Christmas Eve.

Add a Star to our tree with each blanket given to Church World Service this Christmas season
On a record setting warm
December day (86 degrees in Miami Beach), it’s hard to think about blankets,
but our special Christmas offering this Advent season provides funds for
blankets through Church World Service. This Christmas giving provides disaster
survivors (like in New York and New Jersey or Haiti or other places around our
globe) with blankets, food, shelter and safe water—and later with tools,
training and other resources for long-term recovery; it brings help and hope to
people in need the world over, and it empowers congregations like St John’s to
be a true neighbor to those in need.
Each Sunday during this
Christmas season, we are hanging stars on the Christmas trees in our
Sanctuary—one star for every $5 gift, which buys one blanket. Of course, we
won’t actually buy the blankets, but we will share your gifts with Church World
Service—one of the great ministry organizations that touch people’s lives in so
many places. Help us decorate our trees with dazzling stars!

Christmas Worship Series
Sunday begins an exciting four weeks for our church as we explore together our Christmas worship series, “Christmas…” beginning with the traditional Hanging of the Greens on December 2. Our worship series is titled: “Christmas in the Air” “Christmas at the Mall” “Christmas at the Office” and “Christmas at the Table.” On Christmas Eve, we continue with “Christmas at the Manger.”
